After a sleepy spell, the roses woke up in time to greet autumn.

It’s so pretty! I had only 2 of my rose bushes bloom this year. I think the neighbor’s tree is growing too large casting large shadows over the roses. Also with all the rain, the roses have been plagued by blackspot. Do you get that?
Fortunately, I haven’t been seeing that. What I’ve noticed is that it’s taking awhile to get really strong blooms. They’ll bloom but they don’t hold sturdy for long, although with time, they keep getting stronger. An inspiration for me in a week like this, all topsy turvy and ending in rain. Sooo glad for Friday.
